About

Independent, AI-native impact platform.

We build the data and workflow platform that lets impact be measured rigorously, reported consistently and connected with aligned capital — globally.

Our purpose

Why Impact Investment Fund exists

Impact Investment Fund exists to help impact-led ventures, not-for-profits, social enterprises, B Corps, fund managers and aligned investors build a more transparent, measurable and connected impact economy — bridging purpose-led organisations creating impact and those seeking to support it.

After a decade of learning from the front line of impact investing, IIF now provides the tools, platform, directory, reporting systems and advisory pathways needed to help purpose-led organisations strengthen their model, demonstrate their impact, and connect with aligned capital and ecosystem partners.

Our purpose is simple: to make impact easier to measure, easier to understand, and easier to connect with aligned capital.

Vision

A transparent, measurable and connected global impact economy — where purpose-led organisations can prove the change they create and aligned capital can find them with confidence.

Mission

Provide the tools, platform, directory, reporting systems and advisory pathways that help ventures, not-for-profits, social enterprises, B Corps, fund managers and investors strengthen their model, demonstrate their impact and connect with aligned capital and ecosystem partners.

Values

Integrity and independence. Evidence over rhetoric and outcomes over optics. Readiness before raise. Transparency in measurement and reporting. Inclusion and respect for First Nations and frontline communities. Practical infrastructure built from a decade on the front line of impact investing.

Impact

More capital flowing to credible, investment-ready impact ventures. More organisations measuring outcomes that matter and reporting them with rigour. Stronger alignment to the Sustainable Development Goals. A connected global ecosystem where purpose-led founders, fund managers and investors can find each other faster — and where every dollar deployed compounds into measurable social and environmental change.

Geoff Gourley, Founder of Impact Investment Fund

Geoff Gourley is a globally recognised social entrepreneur, impact investor and ESG & AI strategist who has spent more than two decades building the platform that connects purpose-led ventures with aligned capital. He founded Impact Investment Fund to prove that business, when designed with intent, is the most powerful lever we have to solve systemic social and environmental challenges — commercially practical, outcomes-focused, and built for the realities of executive decision-making.

Based in Melbourne and operating globally, Geoff is also Co-Founder & COO of All Natural Capital and Founder, CEO & Principal Consultant of ESG&I — the AI-enabled ESG advisory behind the ChatESG® platform. His capability spans ESG strategy and roadmapping, climate and reporting readiness, materiality and stakeholder engagement, social impact and social procurement, modern slavery and supply-chain risk, executive enablement, and AI-enabled advisory delivery. He works with growth-stage businesses alongside major infrastructure, construction, government and corporate clients. He describes himself as an actionist, not an activist — focused on building the tools, funds and frameworks that move capital toward measurable outcomes aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

A former Non-Executive Director of the United Nations Association of Australia and a voluntary Climate Reality Leader trained by Al Gore, Geoff advises boards, governments and global institutions on impact strategy, ESG, natural capital and AI. Impact Investment Fund is the culmination of that work: an independent, AI-native platform built so the global impact ecosystem can finally measure, report and scale what matters.

Our story

The Impact Investment Fund story

From early impact investment vision to impact infrastructure platform.

Impact Investment Fund began with a simple but ambitious idea: that capital could be used more deliberately to support businesses solving social and environmental problems.

In 2015, the Australian impact investment landscape looked very different to the market we see today. The sector was early, fragmented and still finding its commercial shape. After the sale of an energy services business, Geoff Gourley established Impact Investment Fund with a vision to identify, develop and invest in socially and environmentally conscious startups and privately held businesses.

The original ambition was to create a fund that could support impact ventures with the capital, commercial discipline and long-term backing needed to grow. At the time, there was enormous energy around purpose-led entrepreneurship, but the infrastructure around the sector was still underdeveloped.

Over the following decade, IIF saw both the opportunity and the friction inside the impact investment market. Many ventures were passionate, mission-led and committed to solving important problems. But many were also too early for investment, underprepared for investor scrutiny, weak on commercial execution, and unable to clearly measure or communicate their impact.

For investors and fund managers, the challenge was different but equally real. It was difficult to identify credible early-stage impact ventures, compare opportunities consistently, assess impact quality, monitor portfolio performance, and connect with the broader global impact investment ecosystem.

What we learned

Over time, IIF identified a consistent set of challenges across the impact venture and investment landscape. Many ventures were not yet investment-ready — strong on purpose, but lacking the commercial systems, revenue focus, governance, reporting, data room, sales discipline and staged growth strategy needed to attract and manage aligned capital.

Some founders were deeply connected to the problem they wanted to solve, but had not yet validated the root cause, market demand, customer behaviour or commercial pathway. Others were seeking too much capital too early, without a clear staged plan to prove traction, reduce risk and unlock future funding.

Impact measurement was another major gap. Many organisations could describe their mission, but could not demonstrate outcomes, track performance, evidence change, or communicate their Social Return on Investment in a credible way. Adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals was also slow and often superficial, with limited connection between SDG alignment, operating metrics and actual impact evidence.

Small teams also faced a structural challenge. Lean ventures often lacked the operating systems, reporting rhythms and internal capability needed to move from idea stage to growth stage. IIF faced its own lessons as a first-time fund manager — the market lacked the technology needed to source, review, track and guide a portfolio of impact ventures over time, and both sides of the market needed better infrastructure, not just more capital.

Why IIF has evolved

With these challenges in mind, IIF began developing the tools, methods, reporting approaches and operating model needed to support better impact investment practice. Those tools were shaped by practical experience: sourcing opportunities, assessing readiness, reviewing impact quality, understanding venture gaps, monitoring performance and helping organisations become clearer, stronger and more investable.

IIF is now releasing those tools to the market. The platform has evolved from a traditional impact fund concept into a broader impact investment infrastructure platform — designed for ventures, not-for-profits, social enterprises, B Corps, fund managers, family offices, impact investors and ecosystem organisations that want to participate in a more transparent and measurable impact economy.

The platform supports organisations to assess readiness, measure impact, build theory of change models, align with the SDGs, prepare stronger impact reports, create venture or investor profiles, and connect through a growing global directory.

For ventures: are we ready to engage aligned capital, and can we prove the impact we say we create? For investors: where can we find credible impact organisations, understand their profile, and monitor impact performance over time?

What IIF provides today

Today, Impact Investment Fund is being rebuilt as an AI-enabled global platform for impact measurement, venture readiness, impact reporting, directory visibility and consent-based introductions. The platform is designed to support impact ventures seeking aligned capital, social enterprises strengthening their commercial and impact model, not-for-profits seeking better reporting and funder communication, B Corps wanting stronger evidence of social and environmental performance, portfolio companies reporting impact to investors, fund managers monitoring impact across a portfolio, impact investors and family offices looking for better-aligned opportunities, and ecosystem organisations wanting to connect and list in the growing impact investment market.

IIF does not provide financial product advice, personal financial advice, capital raising services, crowdfunding services or financial products. The platform provides tools, education, reporting, readiness support, directory visibility and consent-based introductions based on declared alignment criteria.

A platform built from hard-earned experience

The impact investment sector has grown significantly since IIF was first established, but many of the same barriers remain. There is still too much friction between ventures and aligned capital, too much inconsistency in impact measurement, too many organisations trying to raise capital before they are ready, and too many investors relying on closed networks, inconsistent data and fragmented deal flow.

IIF has been rebuilt to address these problems directly — bringing together the lessons of a decade in impact investing with a new generation of AI-enabled tools, reporting systems and directory infrastructure. The goal is not simply another website or database, but a practical operating platform for the impact investment ecosystem — one that helps organisations measure what matters, improve readiness, communicate impact, and connect with the right people at the right time.

Welcome to the next chapter of IIF

Over the last decade, IIF has deployed its original capital and is currently considering future fund options. In the meantime, the platform is opening its tools, methods and ecosystem infrastructure to the broader market.

Whether you are a venture seeking aligned capital, a not-for-profit wanting to improve impact reporting, a social enterprise preparing for growth, a B Corp looking to strengthen measurement, a fund manager monitoring portfolio impact, or an investor seeking better visibility of purpose-led opportunities, IIF is designed to support your next stage.

Welcome to Impact Investment Fund. Measure your impact. Strengthen your readiness. Connect with aligned capital.

What we do

IIF is a software platform that helps purpose organisations measure impact, helps ventures become investment-ready, helps investors discover aligned opportunities and helps portfolio companies report performance to their investors. We are an information and tooling company.

What we do not do

  • • We do not provide financial advice or recommend investments.
  • • We do not negotiate terms or handle capital.
  • • We do not operate as a crowdfunding or capital-raising intermediary.

How we build

AI-native by default, with human review at every consequential step. Data is multi-tenant and role-aware so a single organisation can be investor, venture, fund manager and reporting client at the same time. The schema is built for buyer diligence and clean migration from day one.
